Millturn IT's subsidiary market gardening company: providing fresh, organically-grown produce to the Canberra community. We developed this Web application to notify the public of our produce availability and allow them to register interest in receiving it, as well as enabling us to do a stock-take, which then automatically updates the publicly-displayed produce availability.

and are regularly validated and curated by a highly experienced team of expert business analysts,
architects and software developers. We have already found it useful in our own analysis work by giving us a set of requirements
to drive our analysis.
We've built this Woden Valley Walks App (available as an Android app on the Google Play Store) to understand what makes a great trail guide. Our guides are useful both indoors (for exploring museums and galleries) and outdoors (such as in Botanic Gardens and parks). We'd love you to give it a try and give us some all feedback. Woden Valley Walks currently contains two walks in the Hughes and Curtin suburbs. Our aim was to deepen walkers' understanding of their surroundings by highlighting historical, natural and artistic points of interest. However, we don't want to detract from the walking experience itself so much as give walkers access to useful and interesting information on their mobile devices - when they want it and relevant to their current location. Built in the 60s both Hughes and Curtin are full of mature exotic trees that provide shade in the summer, glorious colour in the Autumn and light in the winter (plus enormous piles of leaves for the kids to play with). Both walks will take you past a variety of these trees and some native planting on the jogging loop. We've pointed out the remains of the WW1 soldier settlement era, which are also reflected in some of the street and place names of the area. Other attractions like cafes and bookshops are included. We're keen to know what you want to know - and how an app can improve and enhance your walking experience. We plan to keep enhancing this app as feedback comes in. It will continue to be an experiment in what makes a useful and valuable trail guide.
GardenAssistant (available as an Android app on the Google Play Store) frees you up to get on with what you love - gardening. In GardenAssistant, you can set reminders when you record gardening events (such as sowing or collecting seeds, taking cuttings or planting out seedlings or propagated plants). Never forget to water those precious seeds or planted-out vegetables again!
Start-up EnergyFit Homes engaged us to write a tool (targeted at tablets but device-agnostic/responsive) to assist field assessors to gather data on home energy efficiency, upload this data and download reports on suggested improvements. We finished early (in under three months) and under budget. Note, screen shots can't be shown for privacy and IP reasons.
The Department of Environment and Energy engaged us to write a full-stack responsive (both Web and tablets) application to enable air conditioning installers to register airconditioning systems for demand response control (to avoid grid failure). We also developed the register and an API to enable (authenticated) access to installation data. NOTE: Not yet in production.

Katie is a business analyst, full-stack software developer and historian who has 17 years' IT experience in the government, research and environmental sectors. A former landscape architect, she also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Philosophy (with Distinction) and a Master of History (High Distinction grade average) from the ANU, which informs Millturn’s heritage work.

He cares deeply about building reliable, scalable and well performing systems. He enjoys keeping abreast of the latest technologies. He has studied horticulture and has built a flourishing organic garden with Katie.
